Records, files and usage data for our titles, and the terms on which they may be read, taught and reused.
For Readers
Every book on the list is free to read online and to download, in PDF, EPUB and HTML, without registration or institutional access. The licence stated on each book governs reuse; under the default CC BY licence a title may be downloaded, redistributed, translated and adapted with attribution.
A print edition of each title, in hardcover or paperback, is available to order at cost; the digital editions remain free.
For Librarians
The following are supplied for cataloguing and discovery:
- Free MARC records for every title, individually or as a batch for the whole list.
- KBART holdings files, updated as titles are published.
- Metadata via DOAB and OAPEN: if you already load open-access books from either, ours arrive without any action from you.
- ONIX feeds for library suppliers and discovery services.
- No licence agreement, consortium arrangement, access management or authentication is required.
- COUNTER-conformant usage data available on request for your own reporting.
Records in other formats are available from queries@bassi.foundation, as is notification of new titles in particular subject areas.
Course Use
Any title, or any chapter, may be set as required reading without permission or licensing, and may be printed, posted to a virtual learning environment, or excerpted under the licence. Each chapter has its own DOI and stable URL, so a reading-list citation resolves directly to the text.
Review Copies and Media
Requests for review copies or for an author’s comment should go to queries@bassi.foundation; we make introductions where the author is willing.
